WISH is the first single release of the Japanese rock band ASHIGALL. This design aimed to imagine contemporary Japan captured through the abrasive style of the song, which utilizes nü-metal and j-metal influences in its style and lyrics. Gabriel, alongside his brother Gerard-Paul, created a jacket that relies on visual-kei style, a genre of rock using aesthetics of gothic and glam rock costumes.
The figure on the right was designed and illustrated by Gerard, and the typographic design and layout on the left were designed by Gabriel. Two editions of the design were created: one with a monochromatic-silvertone color scheme, and the other with vibrant pinks, blues, and greens. The latter was the ultimate choice for the release on streaming services. You can listen to the single below.
